Five Park City Utah Golf Courses You Can Play

| February 13, 2016

Park City and the surrounding area is blessed to have so many incredible golf courses to choose from.  With excellent golf weather spring through fall, you can’t pick a better place for a golf vacation. Here are five Park City golf courses that you can play and all are within 20 miles from 421 Woodside.

Park City Golf Club

Park City Golf Course is fun and challenging and only about a 5 minute car ride from the house. This is a fun course that meanders through many homes in Park City for a nice “in-town” golf experience. The back nine can be brutal so make sure to score well on the front 9.  Many locals love playing this golf course because it is municipally owned – which keeps green fees affordable – and management keeps the golf course in nice playing condition once the snow melts and golf season gets into full swing.

Canyons Golf Club

Brand new course set right in the Canyons Village.  About a 10 minute car ride from the house this course is super fun.  The 6,256-yard, par-70 course, designed by Gene and Casey Bates features a unique collection of high-flying holes, some actually built on the ski runs of the Canyons Resort.  It’s a really pretty place with a variation of course design elements and huge vistas.

Soldier Hollow

Soldier Hollow is another one of my favorites a little past the Wasatch courses as far as a car ride goes, but totally different as they are “links” style target golf courses.  I have played both the Gold and Silver and really like them both.

Wasatch Mountain Golf Course

Wasatch Mountain Course ( is probably my favorite course in the world mainly because I shot my best round ever there and also because it is a true “mountain” golf experience with wildlife running abundant.  The Wasatch Lake is fun too, but in my mind, not as awesome as the Mountain.  Both courses are in Heber, which is a 20 minute car ride from the house.

Crater Springs (formerly Homestead)

Another 20 minute car ride from the house brings you  to Crater Springs, a beautiful and challenging 18-hole golf course with two different types of terrain. My Dad was a huge fan of this course.  The front nine offers a mountain style layout with long views of the Heber Valley. The back nine plays along the river bottoms of the Snake Creek Valley, and offers a much different look with the creeks and lakes coming into strategic play. Recently new ownership completed a small renovation of  9 and 18 green complexes which added a waterfall and brings a lake into play on the closing holes on each nine.
